In May, after eight months of searching, Greg landed a good job with a startup company. He is project engineer at Altela, which turns wastewater from gas drilling into clean water. They're in the beta phase, but financing appears plentiful on the green-technology bandwagon, enough to give us the confidence to settle down for good in Corrales. We have come to love this rural enclave at the edge of Albuquerque, and with the mortgage meltdown working for us, we were able to find a cute little house on the mesa, with enough land to expand. I am still writing, struggling to break into the glossier venues, teaching art to kids during the school year, and being a good little housewife. Hope to be gardening soon.
